The main purpose of this paper was to determine the basic and the explanatory components of distributed leadership model in secondary schools. In order to extract the main components of distributed leadership a quantitative approach and exploratory factor analysis of main components were applied. Participants were included 377 teachers (242 female and 135 male teachers) who were selected as in access sample from 31 of Sanandaj’s secondary schools. They were asked to complete a questionnaire which was developed by researchers during the research field work. The questionnaire reliability was assessed by internal consistency of the questionnaire reporting Cronbach's alpha coefficient which was 0.95. The findings of exploratory factor analysis showed that the model’s main components based on teachers’ views consisted of four dimensions including the school’s professional and development growth (utilizing of the individuals’ capabilities for their professional development), trust-based interactions (social interaction based on organization framework), democracy, and full support (decision making freedom and flexibility in work). These four components explained 59.036 percent of data variance about the model.

The present study seeks to survey the mediatory role of achievement goals between class structure perception and cognitive engagement of students studying at the first grade of high school in governmental high schools of Ilam. Samples of the study were 288 male and 288 female students chosen through the multistage random Cluster sampling. The scales used were the indices of mastery structure of the class, avoidance structure of the class, mastery goals, performance-approach goals, performance-avoidance goals, self regulation, deep processing strategies and surface processing strategies. Validity and reliability of the methods used here have been reported to be suitable. The statistical method implemented in the study was "the structure modeling equation" done by the use of LISREL8.51 software. Results have shown that only the direct path of performance-approach goals towards deep processing strategies is not meaningful path and other direct and indirect paths are meaningful. Also with view to the correlation co-ef ficients observed among variables and improvement the goodness of fit of the indices, the LISREL8.51 program suggest adding the paths of mastery structure to self regulation, self regulation to deep processing strategies, and self regulation to surface processing structure and also removing the paths of mastery goals from the deep processing strategies. So, after removing the problematic paths and adding the suggested ones, the fit of the corrected model was examined. Most of fit indices obtalned support the complete agreement of the revised model with data.

In recent decades interpretive approaches overcome the explanatory approaches in educational researches and this fact has led some experts to consider the achieve ment of objectivity in educational research impossible. The aim of this study is to investigate the possibility of achieving objectivity in empirical research in education and, subsequent to an investigation of the viewpoints of positivists, post positivists and the Reconstructionist approach, an attempt is made to answer this quetation from the perspective of the rational reconstruction of Habermas. The method of this research is deductive comparative. The findings suggest that consideration of the universal normative structures provides the educational researcher with a possibility of objectivity in interpretation. In this way, researchers can integrate approaches to interpretation with these of explanation. This secures an objectivity of reconstructive educational approach via internal impartiality; this distinguishes this approach from the positivist and post positivist approaches which invoke external impartiality research. At the end, the challenges and limitations of this type of objectivity in Educational Research have been examined and critically discussed.

This study was carried out to explore the verbal interaction between the teacher and students during teaching and its relation with students' academic achievement in primary schools. To this end, using multistage sampling, 400 teachers were randomly sampled from an original pool of 1600 primary school teachers in Ardabil. The students of these teachers totaling 10831 were asked to participate in the study. Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories System (FIACS) and documents were used for data collection ( the average score of every single students over one semester was used as an index of academic achievement and the number of codes registered for each factor of Flanders system was used as the predictor variable). Using Scott's formula, inter-rater reliability was calculated to be 0.81. Data were collected through observation. The study was correlational. The data collected were analyzed through multiple regression. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows: The greater part of classroom interaction centered on the teacher's lecture, whereas interactions concerning the under standing and appreciation of student's feelings were minimal. A positive correlation was observed between the teacher-students verbal interaction and the academic achievement of primary school students (P<0.01).

Introduction The aim of this study was to train and to develop the leadership competencies of transformation, team building, and strategic thinking using leader development assessment center (LDAC) at National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company. Method An experimental design with pre-test and post-test was used. We got 10 of managers using a simple random method. First, participants responded scales on leadership self-efficacy, leadership knowledge and leadership situational judgment in the pretest. Then, we applied LDAC method as our main intervention for two days. Within applying LDAC, all participants were assessed based on the target leadership competencies through simulation exercises and then, their developmental needs were determined. After, all participants received feedbacks from coaches. Finally, they covered posttest scales after two weeks. Result The results showed LDAC has enhanced the team building leadership competency in the dimension of affective and also transformation leadership competencies in the dimension of cognitive. However, it was found that LDAC has not been effective in enhancing the target leadership competencies in the dimension of behavior. Conclusion Developing leadership competencies is necessary for fostering competent leaders. Since LDAC applies principles of active/deep learning, we recommend future studies to use this method as a training approach in leadership development programs. Its implementation may be challenging and costly, but the payoffs will be worth it.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the prediction of math learning by quality of teaching and classroom climate factors, while mediated by motivational beliefs and self regulating learning strategies. In this research, based on Creemers` model, a hierarchical model was proposed. In this model, 1- quality of teaching and classroom climate factors, 2- motivational beliefs and self regulated learning strategies and 3- math learning were respectively, introduced as exogenous, mediating, and endogenous variables. The sample consisted of 100 fifth grade elementary school girl-students from Shiraz city selected through randomized cluster sampling. The measuring instruments were Quality of Teaching Scale (Kyriakides, et al, 2000), Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction (Wubbels et al, 1993), Teacher Expectancy Scale (Bulach, 1993), Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (Pintrich & DeGroot, 1990) and Mathematics Achievement Test. The validities and reliabilities of all these instruments were confirmed. The results supported the mediating role of the motivational beliefs and self regulated learning strategies. It means that teachers` behavior and interactions of teacher and students indirectly predict math learning through motivational beliefs and self regulated learning strategies.

The kurdestani teachers’ perception of their own welfare and factors impacting it, based on a grounded theory approach. The current study aimed at investigating kurdestani teacher-s' perception of their own welfare, identifying factors affecting it and suggesting mechanisms for its improvement. This research is qualitative and is based on grounded theory. Participants composed of 12 sanandajan teachers who were systematically selected using theoretical sampling. The deep interview was used to collect data. The result, showed that from the participants’ viewpoint welfare is a comprehensive concept and has material and mental dimensions. This concept is influenced by: political (state policy), social (values, attitude), economic (quantitative and cost attitude), organizational (management and process), individual (teachers' role), and professional factors (professional identity). Teachers welfare can be improved through comprehensive social efforts, teachers own determination and efforts, and the recognition and support accorded professional teachers’ association.

Introduction According to many experts and scholars of higher education, nowadays the most important factor of inefficiency of higher education policymaking in Iran is nonconformity of policies and decisions with scientific, theoretical and research basics. Policy research is defined as a research process, focused on providing policy options and referred to the practice of policymakers and can contribute to reasonable and rational policymaking in the field of higher education. Method the main aim of this research was designing and validation of pathology model of Iranian higher education policy research process. For this purpose mixed exploratory approach was used. Process of this research has been conducted in quantitative and qualitative phases. In qualitative phase through semi-structured interviews with 15 policy makers, policy researchers and scientific experts and subsequently content analysis of interviews, a list of the current damaging factors of policy research process in Iranian higher education was adopted. Then, mentioned list is confirmed by participants through Delphi technique (binomial test). Based on the findings of qualitative phase of research, quantitative questionnaire was designed and conducted. Statistical population of quantitative phase were higher education policy researchers and decision-makers including those affiliated to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (as institute for social and cultural studies, institute for research and planning in higher education, center for international scientific studies and collaboration and etc.), those not affiliated to the Ministry (as national research institute for science policy, Islamic parliament research center, supreme council of cultural revolution), higher education policy-makers and scientific experts. 203 questionnaires were completed by them. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to examine research questions. Results During the present research process, 93 sub-components were identified in the form of 12 main components and 5 dimensions: 26 components for contextual and environmental dimension, 11 components for structural dimension, 23 components for functional dimension (higher education policy makers), 23 components for functional dimension (higher education policy researchers) and 10 components for communicational and interactional dimension. Discussion In order to reduce the damage of current policy research process of Iranian higher education, some solutions can be considered, including: reforming the system of evaluation and promotion of higher education policy-researchers, need-based establishment of policy-research structures, prioritizing policy-making needs in higher education, more participation of policy-makers in policy research process, Balanced distribution of power between policy-makers and policy-researchers. nsion.

Introduction Regarding the affordances of an online learning environments, it is expected that such environments facilitate teaching and learning processes and increase higher-order thinking skills, especially critical thinking skills. However, evidence suggests that many of online learning courses are designed in ways that do not carry the required capacity to enhance higher order thinking skills such as t critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to design and validate a model for reinforcing students' critical thinking skills in an online learning environment. Method The present study uses a mixed-method research approach including content analysis and survey. The content analysis focused on a corpus of all research articles indexed in the database. We used a targeted sampling method for inclusion. For survey research we used a convenient sampling method to select among the body of experts in the field of instructional technology. The sample size included 20 participants. The instrument used for the survey was developed by the researcher and was validated using a expert panel of seven experts in the field of instructional technology. The reliability of the tool was ensured using a test-retest method. The correlation coefficient (0.94) between the two tests was significant at the level of p = 0.01. Results The findings of the research indicated that the proposed model elements for reinforcement the students' critical thinking skills in the online learning environment, including the presentation of the problem and the stimulating events, explored and searched the nature of the problem, the discussion, and argumentation about the proposed problem, the presentation of the solution, cognitive presence and social presence. Guided by the observed themes, we also came up with proposed design model. Finally, the themes were cross validated in consultation with a subgroup of 20 experts in the field of educational technology. Discussion Based on the results of the present study, the presentation of the problem or stimulating events should happen in the early phase of the instructional design model. In the next stage, the learning environment should provide an opportunity for students to explore the nature of the problem. This stage should be followed by an opportunity for learners to discuss different sides of the problem and ultimately present their solutions and reasoning that comes with it. Both social and teaching presence are elements that are present throughout the steps and processes of reinforcement critical thinking skills in online learning environments. The two aspects are important in design of learning environment because they create not only an affective bond for students but also balance and systematize the process of learning activities. The results of the present study indicate that online learning environments, if designed systematically and following sound design principles as shown in the present study, have the very potential to enhance critical thinking skills.

The purpose of this study was to identify an appropriate Instructional method for Continuing Medical Education using traditional (lecture based) and two Electronic learning methods. In this quasi-experimental study 90 General physicians and assistants according to the recall of Kermanshah University and by available sampling method in three groups including 30 people participated. The traditional continuing medical education attended in the classroom received lecture based teaching and was taught by experienced college teachers. The E-learning content in the second group was developed by using Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 software with both text and image media and in the third group by using Adobe Flash CS5 software with all five media (text, images, sound, animation and video). It should be noted that the three groups had similar content in terms of text. The gathering instrument was four questionnaires, included of demographic information (8- items). The rate of learning by comparing pre- test and post-test scores (20- items were written at application level by using the Merrill’s taxonomy) and two questionnaires measuring motivation in learning based on the traditional and e-learning methods (48- items). Data analysis was performed by paired sample T test and chi square, One-way analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis and Tukey’s test. The findings showed that there were no significant differences between groups in the average scores achieved in the pre-test exam in three groups (p˂0/05). The results of One-way ANOVA test in the post-test exam showed that the learning rate was not statistically different between Group I and Group II and the third group had the highest rate of increase in learning than the other groups that was statistically significant (p=0.001). Also, participants’ motivation in group II was more than group I and participants using Merrill’s, Reigeluth’s & Keller’s models were more motivated than with the other two methods (p=0.001). Conclusion: As a result, educational method based on instructional and motivational models, in terms of learning and motivation rate to teach physicians, was more effective than traditional teaching methods and merely instructional design models.

In education literature, motivation is considered a prerequisite. Education quality increase and educational progress of the learners require the motivation promotion. Many external and internal factors affect the learners' motivation. Recognition of these factors helps us promote the students' academic motivation in universities. This article attends to investigate the relationship of internal factors like attention, meaningfulness (the relevance of the material with their personal life) and academic self-efficacy with academic motivation. the research method is of a descriptive correlational research method. Statistical population of this research included the students of Human Science at B.A, level of Tehran Azad University. Sampling method is stratified random sampling of 400 people. In this research, Vallerand and et al (1992) Questionnaire on academic motivation and researcher-made Questionnaire on personal meaningfulness, attention and feeling of academic self-efficacy were used. The finding revealed that the three variable have a significant effect on academic motivation. The total variables explain the %37.7 of academic motivation changes. The variables effect on academic changes is as follows: Attention variable (Direct and indirect effect): .409 , Meaningfulness variable (Direct effect) : .399 , Academic self-efficacy variable: .361.
